I have for five days now to market my website in the big place called Internet to find out what it takes to get a few hundreds of visitors a week. It’s hard work but not by far as hard as I expected. Before I started promoting my site I came up with a couple of ideas of how it best could be done. Those ideas later resulted in the article “How to get visitors to your website” which itself drew about 25 % of my visitors. My expectations were not very high. I am after all only a hobby blogger who has an interest in web design and painting.
After I used the ideas written there together with writing new articles I waited for the stats to turn up. When they did, I was both nervous and exited. I had a peak with 255 unique visitors on Monday which I was astonished about. It was actually an increase with at least 2000 %. The page views reached just a little over 1000.
Thanks to a little SEO my pages turned up very high in search results and Google provided me with lots of visitors. Before the intense promotion was the domain name zmolklife.com by LeapFish.com valued to $45.00 which I then thought was a bit to much. Today, when I checked again, they valued it to $208.00. That was something I didn’t think was possible.
The next challenge will be to enter top 100 000 in Alexa.com.
I hope this experiment will make other bloggers realize that what they write about might draw more than just the best friends.
