Every single camera around the world leaves its unique digital fingerprint on your photos. This means that you could tell exactly which camera photographed a certain picture. This can be very good when it comes to convicting criminals for making child porn or any other illegal images or movies.

The technique has been developed   by some scientists in U.S. It works almost the same as identifying a weapon firing a gun.  Every camera has it’s own variations when absorbing light and the “signature” will stay with the camera for almost it’s entire life.

Before the new technique can be used in court  it must be improved more. Jessica Fridrich is one of the scientists who, along with her colleagues, is currently working with the improvements at Binghamton’s university in U.S.They have reported that all of their tests have been successful and the results are very reliable.
