Just a while ago Apple sent out a press release where they say iPhone has been sold in over 1 million phones.
It took 74 days for Apple to sell 1 million of their smartphone iPhone, something that took the iPod two years. Steve Jobs says he’s very pleased to have achieved his goal of taking 0,1 percent of the mobile market and how short time it took.
Despite that not even Apple themselves believed iPhone would be such a success, their new goal is to reach 10 millions sold phones and take hold of 1 percent of the market and that before December 31st 2008.
Not everybody thinks the iPhone will sell as much in the future. The first 30 hours after the release it sold 270 000 phones and after that there has not been very much of a rush to get it. Another thing that could slow things down a bit is Apple’s introduction of iPod touch.
