Linux continues to become more and more common over the world and governments and big companies switch to Linux to save costs. Another major step in the right direction for Linux has been taken in Macedonia. An infrastructure consisting of about 180 000 virtual PC-terminals with Ubuntu will be built.
The project is called “Computer for Every Child” and the goal is to provide every schoolchild with an own workstation. It was started by the Macedonian Education and Development department. The company providing the stations is NComputing.
