Facebook is a great place with lots of different discussion groups. While most of them are about regular stuff some have been created for a particularly good cause. Like these two groups for example. I strongly encourage you to support them if you’re a member at Facebook.
Hunting the murderer of Lindsay Hawker
I don’t if you remember but this spring, six months ago, the teacher Lindsay Hawker, 22, was found murdered in a bathtub filled with sand. The injuries she had indicated that she had been strangled to death. Ever since, police have been looking for 28 year old Tatsuya Ichihashi, which was one of her students. He fled when the body was discovered and the cops have found him on a surveillance video so they’re pretty sure it’s him.
Lindsay’s parents have started a campaign to find the murderer. One part of the campaign is to have a Facebook group where they ask for the help of the public. The group has 12 000 members at present and as it grows more people become aware of who she was and who the murderer could have been.
So join it and support Lindsay’s parents.
Get Huntely of Facebook
This weekend news came out that Ian Huntely, also known as the “Soham-killer”, had registered an account at Facebook with the help of a female fan. He calls himself Ian Nixon which is his mothers last name.
In the group “Get Huntely of Facebook” furious members protest against the account of the murderer sentenced for life. They don’t think “people like him should be allowed on sites like Facebook”.
Ian Huntely killed Holly Marie Wells and Jessica Aimee Chapman, both ten years old, outside the town Soham in England.
