I have been doing websites since early 2003. The first one was actually a fan site about the Lord of the Rings books and made small success. In the beginning I used various free web hosts, something I now have decided  not to do again. I think I have lost 5 or 6 websites due to crashes to the host’s harddrive. After the first time I made a backup. These crashes was good in one way because I rebuilt the sites over and over again and all of a sudden I realized I knew HTML, CSS and some PHP without taking any courses at all.

Now, CSS and PHP has become the dominating part of my websites and I still find it amazing to see what you can achieve with a little programming. Images and art has become a more frequent element in my designs. It is of my opinion that a sketchbook is something every webdesigner should use.

In just a few years I’ve developed so much as a designer and programmer I see potential website designs everywhere I  turn my head.
